I didn't get the chance to go see this when it was in theatres...however, I am feeling somewhat optimistic about buying it. But rather than risking twenty dollars, I'd like to get someone who has viewed the film's opinion.
Is it really worth buying (so it can be viewed more than once), or is it just a one time rental? Please, help.

I bought it (before reading your post, sadly...I should have looked back here first) for $15, and it wasn't too bad a deal. I thought it was pretty cute, but definitely not Disney's best. It was well worth a watch, at least...and if I would have went to the theatre to see it, it would've cost me just as much...
However, since I adore Disney, my opinion may seem a little biased. Ah well.
In the end, I'm not regretting purchasing it, since I have a little girl that I babysit from time to time who'll love it.

shareI would always suggest renting something you're not sure about, but I actually found this to be pretty enjoyable and fun. The jokes were good and the characters were cool, especially Buck the karate fightin', James Brown quotin' horse who saves the day! (voiced by Cuba Gooding Jr.). I really don't understand some of the negative reviews of this one, no it's not a Lion King, but what is? Several moments did remind me of Looney Tunes for sure, especially the cartoon violence (hit with frying pan, etc.). Still, the movie is fun from start to finish, with some great songs. It was simple and fun, no big moral here, which is sometimes very welcome. I'm 28 and my girlfriend (a Disney officianado) at 25 liked it as well. I think kids would get a kick out of it too. As always though, rent it first. I would do that with most movies.

IGNORE ALL BAD REVIEWS OF THIS MOVIE! Well, I ignore all the bad reviews. I seriously don't see anything wrong with this movie. It's so old-school Disney. And the characters are so memorable & classic. And the songs are awesome. The whole movie is so sweet and funny. Trust me, you should buy it!

I love Disney, so I rented this. This might be the worst Disney film (not including sequels) in 20 years! I guess it was worth the time for me because I'm a Disney fanatic, but it was just...bad.
