ending? spoilers

Must have missed something, the guy is using the salt and pepper thing to show them about bloodlines and the screen goes black and he and his mother are in the hospital. What happened?

reply

She then says to him....'what if it was pepper and pepper' and it turns out her uncle raped her, as her mum & dad were in debt to him and he always gave them money for alchol (they were alcholics) so they let him do what he wanted and she got pregnant to him. So they could use her bone marrow.

Thank you very much, apparently this part was censored, movie was on state run channel. The ending makes sence now :)

reply

Wow... Where do you live to have that part censored? I wouldn't have ever thought that something like that would happen, so I'm very interested. Thanks.

reply

I live in Cyprus, was surprised also, didnt think there was still censorship around with all the competition from private stations that sometimes should be censored for some of the things they show during the time kids watch tv.

reply

thanks for the reply.... I wasn't sure were Cyprus was to had to google it. What a beautiful looking place.

I thought it was the mothers brother who had sex with her than moved to new Zealand, and became rich. The brothers always reference the Uncle and the mother looks away.

Reisers best line, just before he and his mother go into the operating room:

"When i come out will I have an uncontrolable urge to bleach my hair and smoke?"

In Liverpool we call our parents auntie's and uncle's, auntie and uncle but not our parents brothers and sisters.
I think there would have been some genetic problems! Plus I think it was a bit too much to put that sort of story line in that film!
Plus he was a lot older.

Patrick, don't you have to be stupid somewhere else?
Not until 4!

Sheila was raped by her uncle Peter, didn't say if he was her mother's or dad's brother. He moved to Australia, became rich, and sent Sheila and her family money to move out there. I believe it was Frank who explained the money part to Jerry, adding that Sheila was dead set against moving and sent the money back. Frank couldn't understand why, because no one knew what had happened between Peter and Sheila.

For me that the twist that made this different from similar shows. Of course she keep up the pretense of Denny being the father, from shame, but the fact he wasn't made it possible to save Jerry's life. I really liked the movie, very well written and acted. I loved that Paul Reiser was able to use a lot of his humor, without making it a stand-up routine...it was a serious subject, afterall. I didn't realize it was written by Tim Kazurinsky...which answers my question of what he has been up to lately. Okay, I could gush...but 'nuff said: Good movie!
