I came upon this movie by chance, and assumed it would be a cliched comedy, boy was I wrong and was completetely unprepared for the range of emotion it evoked. The screenplay was very realistic. My problem with most movies is how untrue to real people the characters usually are. SR/MBS had realistic dialogue and interactions....If you haven't seen it ....watch it!

I just now watched it after having it DVR'd since Nov. 17. I kept watching other movies. I saw that one of my favorite actress's name (Julie Walters) was in this and decided to finally watch. Boy was I surprised. Loved everything thing about the movie also.

Paul Reiser was lucky to work with both Julie and Olympia, both award winning actresses.

I totally agree with you. I caught the last half of this on FLIX and fell in love with it. I went to Amazon and found it was available on DVD. I immediately bought it. Now I'm going to buy it for members of my family.

Twenty years ago Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert campaigned for "The Last Seduction", a Showtime movie in which Linda Fiorentino gave a virtuoso performance, to be released to theaters so she could become eligible for an Academy Award nomination.

Now I know how they felt. Julie Walters was sheer perfection in her role.

I'm in total agreement with you all on this film. Clearly wasn't marketed very heavily and should have been! It reminds me of films like "Secrets & Lies". There is a wonderful British cultural sensibility that comes through many of these smaller films populated with primarily English casts.

There's a coarse honesty that just doesn't often comes
from most American casts. I love seeing these actors make the script become real through cheeky humor and
touching humanity. They feel very realistic and this film truly played to that approach.
