Max's Metamorphosis

For me, the whole point of the film was the civilization of Maxwell Bright; through the influence of his wife, his Buddhism and his disease, he changed from an angry, self-absorbed, thoughtless *beep* to a man sensitive enough and reflective enough to contact people from his past he had wronged terribly and apologize to them to make amends, something the old Max would never have done. I also thought it was a great piece of casting to have Jennifer Tilly play the oncologist; what a weird juxtaposition of her and that sexy voice talking about cancer! And didn't the funeral director seem like Johnny Depp's younger brother? Each of the actors in this film, even Arlis and Ogden the preacher, were extremely well-cast.
