Morena Baccarin - Girl in Bar

Kidd clearly cast very carefully, because even for the tiny, unnamed role of "Girl in Bar," he cast Morena Baccarin, who is superb in Joss Whedon's latest film, "Serenity." She is Roger's first attempt, who is supposedly going to become yet another trophy of her boss. She plays Inara, the "companion" in "Serenity." I recognized her by her smile while watching "Firefly," the ill-fated TV version of "Serenity," but couldn't place her for the life of me. I hope "Serenity" launches a successful, and well-deserved career.

TV-version of Serenity? Huh? Serenity is a movie version of Firefly, which came first. Something can't be a "version" of something that doesn't exist yet.

Remember spotting her in this just after it came out for rental. Was pretty cool to see a lot of the Firefly cast (most of whom, at the time, were still relative unknowns or bit-players) pop up more and more in movies and TV shows after that series ended. Now Morena's a pretty big name in TV-land, what with her starring villain role as Anna on the remake of V (not nearly as good as Firefly/Serenity, but still a decent attempt, with some quality actors in the mix).

Yeah, it was great to see her in this. I'm glad she's beginning to get more well known for shows outside of Firefly/Serenity.
