You people give little credit to Roger himself. You're supposed to doubt Roger's commitment to his nephew throughout the film and his credibility but at the moment when Roger makes himself look like an ass so that Nick can score you realize that he actually knows what he is doing and that he actually cares about his nephew. The nephew continues to go soft and be happy with just "being friends" or whatever and then you find out that he cares much too much about his ex as far as his reputation is concerned. The ending leaves you knowing that Roger knows what he's doing, because he gets the girl to come over needing her mind blown... and before doing the cliché pure "player" attitude it leaves you with a confident smile. Now, this doesn't even say that Nick has "learned the ways of the Roger"; Nick could've learned that he is the kid that is simply happy with taking it slow and all that sentimental garbage. What matters is that he knows himself and is confident in whatever he is about to say, thanks to his emotional wreck of an uncle.
