Did Andrew Niccol ever sue about this movie?

It's like the Truman Show. It is not an original concept.

reply

It's actually the opposite of The Truman Show. The Truman Show was about 1 person who didn't know that his life was a television show while everyone else around him did. The Movie Hero was about 1 person who was convinced that he was in a movie and almost everyone else was convinced that he was crazy. The idea may or may not have been inspired by The Truman Show but I don't think there is grounds to file a law suit.

Spot on. If anything, this is the opposite to The Truman Show.

reply

Well they are both about a guy. Wow, your an idiot.

reply

If you honestly think this movie is a ripoff of The Truman Show then there's no way you could have actually seen them both.

reply

Not to mention the Truman Show was pretty much a ripoff of a J. Michael Straczynski short that he wrote for the Twilight Zone. This was nowhere close to either of those.

Both the Truman Show and Stracynski's piece were preceded by an episode of the old Twilight Zone starring Howard Duff and written by Richard Matheson, in which he plays a businessman who discovers that his quite ordinary and conventional life is taking place on a movie set, which is suddenly struck in the midst of his day.
