Paddy was the weakest actor

The film is lovely and has some extraordinary performances from old pros Morton and Honsou, and especially the two young girls. But the one performance that stood out for the wrong reason was Paddy as Johny. He was wooden at the best of times and cringeworthy when he tried to emote - the scenes where he 'gets angry' and starts pacing up and down doing karate chops opposite Honsou was awful and cat-hissing? He tends to come out of character opposite the young girls scenes as though he were an acting teacher, encouraging them, rather than truly responding to them. Often blank, often wooden. He is charming though and that Irish accent is lovely to listen to, but hes the weakest actor in this ensemble.

I actually thought he was very convincing, and is underrated in this film.

I own the Jelena Jankovic board

I liked him, too!

Have you seen him in other stuff? Try Romeo Brass. And I'd probably agree though, as Morton the girls and Honsou were superior.

Not only did he have one of the best Irish accents I'm heard delivered by a non Irish actor I thought his acting was excellent. He was supposed to be blank he was supposed to be wooden. He can't feel, he can't emote, it was the entire point of his character.

Two Thumbs Way Up for Considine's performance in these movie... He was very convincing in his character, it looked to me that he really understood the script...

totally agree. he was a fish out of water. the little girls weren't that good either.

Wow. Seriously, wow. I know some things come down to opinion, but then some are also unarguable. The fact that the two girls acted their hearts out shouldn't even be in contention. If you didn't think they were good, your standard of quality must be impossibly high.

You heart me? What is that? Is that like I love you for pussies?

You've must of been high off CRACK, or Heroin! They were all amazing.

Ha-ha..... you're definitely a loser troll, that couldn't make it as an actor.

reply

why is he a troll because he thinks they're lousy actors? That's a dumb comment.

reply

Because zippy.... jealous ooze from His post. A frustrated out of work "Actor" how flopped, and went crawling back too where he slithered from. Period, are you an "out of work actor" too? I think sooooo goodbye trolls.

reply

I don't view it that way at all. I agree, the kids were not believable. You're just a moron

Dude you missed the whole premise of that character,he couldn't emote because of the trauma of the death of his son, that was his character arc...
