Angered By Nora Dunn's Character

One thing that really made me mad is the attitude of Zoe's lawyer. She had her mind made up that Zoe was simply making up the man who abducted her. She didn't even want to HEAR Zoe's side of the story and refused to believe the POSSIBILITY that Zoe just MAY have been telling the truth.

It was frustrating but, from the lawyer's point of view, this was Zoe's second DUI, she seemed very scatterbrained, she was inebriated at the time, and there was zero evidence of the mysterious hijacker. The lawyer was thinking in terms of judge, prosecution & jury and their likely verdict, so she sought to get Zoe the lightest penalty possible. In a way, she had Zoe's best interests in mind.

I got the idea that the lawyer was pretty good at what she did, and was also very busy. She probably hears from most (all?) of her clients that they're innocent. She just lays out what the law is, what she can do, and what Zoe has to do until the trial. Very businesslike, and no, not a warm fuzzy character.
