How did she get the ankle bracelet off?

Anybody have any ideas? They didn't show it. Thanks.

She took this sledgehammer and smashed it. They didn't show her foot while she was doing this, but she got it off. She broke her foot doing it.

I thought the thing was impossible to get off? Even if you broke your foot, I don't think you could slip it off.

reply

i think it's implyed that she broke her foot and was able to slide it off --kinda like mel gibson breaking his shoulder out of place to escape a staight jacket in "lethal weapon."

In the movie she took a sledge hammer and broke it off.. ouch!!!!!

reply

I dont think she broke it because it didnt look smashed and he als said it was unbrakable. I think that she just smashed and broke her ankle so that she could slide it off.

Exactly right! If you break your ankle it is possible to then manipulate and press your heel in enough to slide a bracelet or handcuff off. It's not easy though as you have to break at the right location which is very low where the two bones link into the foot. I just don't see how she would have enough knowledge of anatomy. Even if she did, she'd have to hit it perfectly to get the desired break and the odds of missing are better than the odds of hitting the right spot. Plus the pain would be so overwhelming that she'd likely faint. Oh well, it's just a movie I guess and talk about a smokin hot chick.

She gets that idea by watching TV. It is shown on TV that captured wolverine chews its foot to escape the steel trap.

All of these theories are great... what I want to know is---

How the hell did she get to the hospital to get a cast if she was a convicted felon with no money, no health insurance, etc? And it seems like she got the cast done the following day because the bandage is still on her forehead.

That, I don't understand.

But other than that... fantastic film.

Really? You wanna know all that?

The point is she escaped; she's hot and she escaped. ;) I could have done without that blond boy approaching her in the train, served no purpose.

Anywho, I'm watching it right now, again, and I'll watching it again and again. I love this movie, and Tunney. <3

The guy on the train was to show that she no longer needed to find a guy, like at the beginning of the movie, or maybe she was in love with TBN and didn't realize it until the dining scene.

reply

All she had to do was call 911. EMT takes her to nearest ER. You don't need money or ID to be treated there. (that's why health care is so expensive.)

Must have been the fantasy part of the segment. The bracelet was intact, and the foot would have had to be literally cut off to get that bracelet off. I've broken a bone in my foot before and it was impossible to even walk. So that part of the movie was totally bogus. They should have come up with something simpler and more realistic. That bolt cutter should have been plenty enough to cut the bracelet off.

Judging by the foot injury cases on the UK show "Bizarre E.R.", she'd run a serious risk of having the foot amputated if the blood supply to her foot was damaged.

If she'd planned ahead, an angle grinder, Dremel tool, electric die grinder, or even a router (the woodworking kind, not the network kind) fitted with an abrasive cutting disc would slice through just about any metal.
