Sandbanks Provincial Park

I worked at Sandbanks Provincial Park near/in Picton, Ontario for 3 months as part of a Canadian youth volunteer program called Katimavik (www.katimavik.org).

I must say, it is an AMAZING Provincial Park and I had so much fun working there and learning all about it...its history, the people that work there, and the movies that have been shot there.

So, of course, I was quite excited to see "Touching Wild Horses" on TV because I remember people saying that it was was filmed there.

Some of the shots in the movie brought back memories because I recognize specific sand dunes, fields, and even specific trees and I have tons of pictures from the park.

Beautiful movie set in a beautiful park.
Wonderful use of the location!

I actually live in "the County", not 10 mins. away from the Park, and I remember how exciting it was when it was filmed...I actually bumped into Jane Seymour at our local theatre when she saw Harry Potter with her family...

If you love the setting of this film, check out Fly Away Home or the TV mini series Haven (both filmed in and around the Sandbanks/Prince Edward County area).

That park made lovely scenery for the setting of the film. I liked the photography. All those yellows, reds and browns. And shot against the sun in a number of scenes. Beautiful.
