Is Mainframe Still In Existence?

Does anyone know if the production company that created Reboot is still around? I tried to access their website but for some reason it is no longer available on the web. I have just finished My Two Bobs, and i know that it has been four years since it's release, but i reached the end and i am now looking for closure. Personally, I would love for the show to be brought back to the air, but it seems now too late for that. But back to my question, if anyone knows anything about Mainframe please reply, it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you certain you had the right address? I just went to Maniframe.ca and didn't have any trouble getting in. Perhaps it was temporarily down when you tried it.

As for ReBoot... I don't think they're going to go back to it. It seems they've got too many other things on the go. It's a shame, reboot was and is a great series, one of my all time favorites but such is life

You must have typed the link incorrectly.

Why would a company release a DVD with two movies if it never had a ending!?! I just got it for Christmas and when it ended with Megabarf saying Blady Bla Hunt! I was shocked! I mean there was no proper ending and the company which is still around and making movies (Casper, Scary Godmother, Inspector Gadget etc.) is named after the city where the heros live! The producers are total jerks for not completing the story.

reply

I think its kinda selfish that they did not finish the story, and are instead doing a bunch of other stuff. Dont get me wrong, the series is brilliant and its great that they made it at all, but it deserves more series, or at least a proper ending to finish it completely. They can not just leave it and carry on with Inspector Bloody Gadget (I used to love the 80's cartoon of this by the way). I recently sent them an email asking about the fate of ReBoot, its been enarly a week and no responce, can anyone else get through to them?

reply

You are so right! I think if they aren't going to end it correctly then why did they make a HUGE hype about the movies on Cartoon Network. I'm sure after it was on Cartoon Network got bad letters about the ending. It's on a kids show the villian is NEVER subpost to win! And really some scenes could have been cut to make space for a good ending if time was a factor, like seeing them in games with the Megabyte-Bob (they were funny but I would nave rather see the series go off on a good foot) And why in the world would the DVD company let it be released with a bad ending. It is so hard to see why it ended so horribly. And you are so right it is selfish if they start something they should finish it properly before moving on to other projects. My friend was writing a fan fiction about their fate ,but she's working on other things and never finished it.

Yea, its so annoying, I've since read on Wikpedia that the writers of ReBoot have left Mainframe, so any hope of closure is long gone, if they did ever bring the series back, it would not be the ReBoot that we know. Throughout its life the series got the s****y end of the stick from networks not showing it, in the UK it was shown on a channel called CITV, it got stopped half way through the 3rd series, without the internet to download episodes I would never EVER have seen after that point. And Wikpedia also said that Walt Disney bought a network, i forgot what it was, YTV or ABC or something and it was stopped from being shown there too. So frustrating, the show is too mature for Walt Disney, *beep* and apparelty too mature to be shown anymore over here, pathetic.

I hate it when that happenes. What kind of writers would allow a creation that they spent loads of time on to turn to crap? I think a fan who likes the show there are still fans of it who would be willing to write a proper ending to it. I mean why let Megabarf win I doubt there will be closure but if you discard the whole season 4 the season 3 ending was much much better than the fooked up one season 4 came up with. If it came down to it lots of things could have been cut if it was a time error I hate to say it but the whole Mike the TV singing (or "Michel" as Daemon calls him) could have been cut (it would be a nice bonus feature cuz I thought it was funny). When it comes down to it the extra things that add humor aren't needed as much as a proper ending is.

reply

I loved the singing at the end of series 3, they could have finished it there. But they went onto make a 4th series, I believe they had intentions of finishing of finishing the show off, but for some reason or other, the writers left the studio and it was never completed and I want to find out why, so far Mainframe hasnt responded to my email. Bugger!

reply

I know! Now everything is Alphanumeric!!! They shouldn't start something if they don't intend to finish it properly. It would be cool if they made a hour long finale episode because that's all the fans want.

reply

Agreed, SOMETHING to finish it off properly, im relly pissed off that this show got shafted, everything good gets shafted by the tossers in charge (i.e. not the people who make it, the people who are on the Tele networks who decide to show it or not)

reply

I'm still shocked that the people who worked so hard to make it would just say eeeh screw this show lets do something else. Don't they care about the fate of their characters. I mean the characters in a story are like their babies especially on something that many people like and has won awards. I think if they actually WANTED Megabyte to win like some say they could have told us that "Old-Bob" was him like they could have showing him doing something which MegaByte-ish which makes me believe that there is a "lost final episode" they could have made it but their resourse money was cut and couldn't make one and just had to go with it. It's a possibility.

I don't see what was wrong with the ending. Sure the cliff-hanger is kindof annoying, but really... it's brilliant. Tony Jay's performance there is brilliant. And really, would it have been in-character for Megabyte to be fooled and captured so easily after defeating Bob and Dot and Phong SO many times?

I personally loved the note the show ended, and while it implied that there was more to come... it's not like they owe us anything. =P

reply

With Tony Jay's (voice of Megabyte) recent and upsetting death, the chances of ReBoot continuing might be a little less likely. The 2nd Reboot film was all about Megabyte! If the producers pick it up again, i have no idea where they're going to find a voice similar to Tony Jay's! His voice was legendary...
