Beig shown on US Cable (Encore) as Undertaking Betty

It's too bad about the title confusion. Looks like this film did not get the promotion and distribution it deserved. Blethyn and Molina are delicious in the main roles, but Walken almost walks off with the movie. A few weak spots: Evans is too gawkish and unfunny as Walken's assistant, and the little orphaned boy subplot was too maudlin. But overall this was one laugh-out-loud scene after another. Great location shooting too.
Add this movie to the genre of great morbid comedies: Waking Ned, Arsenic & Old Lace, The Trouble with Harry, etc. Of course not all morbid comedies are great; they are probably hard to pull off. Just look at the icky Weekend at Berny's movies. But if anyone can recommend any other good ones like Plots/Betty, I'd love to hear them.
