Changing of the will
Either I missed something or there was a major plot hole when Betty's will makes the little boy the major benefactor instead of her husband. It makes sense but she did not find out about her husband until after she was "legally dead" at her funeral. While she was still "alive" she wanted to make sure he was taken care of before she "died" so somewhere in between the will was changed.
A lawyer had to be involved like the doctor but I don't recall that ever being addressed.
