Why is this movie bad?~good reason please.

Can anyone tell me why they hate this movie? Please let it be a good reason. What Celeste Davis went through is actually real, I should know...I know her...but that's irrelevant...so can you tell why this movie is so bad?

reply

This movie was terrible because Celeste Davis has no idea how to write.

The dialogue was horrible. It didn't flow well at all. It was like watching a bunch of very, very awkward moments in a row.

The acting was subpar, even by bad indie film standards.

Miss Davis should have taken classes.

Miss Davis also had no idea what she was writing about.

I honestly feel robbed of my time, having sat and watched this steaming pile.

reply

Well she was only 14 or so when she wrote the thing and the only reason they made a movie about it was because her dad works with Warner Brothers...I saw the movie, I agree.

reply

This movie is bad because of the following reasons

1. The writing.
2. The acting.
3. The movie takes a serious subject and makes it into a joke.

reply

Dear Rmarti;

There isn't any; because it isn't "bad".

It takes a variety of serious subjects
and places them into this fantacy story,
while sending a strong message that most
'teenagers' et al can relate to etc.

Some don't "get it" but; Hey, that's their
problem.

Happy trails to all...

It takes very serious subjects and makes them into jokes.

reply

Ladies & Gentlemen;

This is a GREAT film; written by a 'teenager'
for 'teenagers' and David's opinion is NOT a
"good reason".

He simply doesn't like it, is ALL.

In NO way does it "make jokes" of the problems
that this age group faces today, or in the past.

In fact the reverse is true because; it speaks
directly to the 'middle class' family, where this
sometimes is difficult to recognize etc.

Hence the tag line: "Can yo see me"??

If your family has teenagers, please rent/buy it
for ALL of you to see. You won't be sorry.

Happy trails to all...

reply

Actually it does make them into a joke. It makes them into a joke by taking them and diminishing them. I watch this and I say, "wow, they really make her problems look so minimal? That's her justification for what she did?" There are a lot of people who don't recognize the problems of the youth, or any troubled people for that matter. They'll watch this film and say the same thing I did and look down upon anyone who goes through any real problems because this film poorly portrayed the suffering.

reply

Dear Dave;

You have misunderstood the film Sir.

The character she created "Silver Strand" (by name)
is a delicate/frail thing, deserving of recognition
by others/family/friends.

Hence the tag line; "Can you see me"??

ALL 'teenagers' have problems, as to children and
adults. The purpose of the film is to show that
these can have disasterious results, if NOT seen
in advance

This was the purpose of the 'classroom scene' too.

NOWHERE does it "put them down"; but shows instead
(overall) some of the possible results etc.

You should watch it again.

Happy trails to all...

reply

The only disaster it led to was her suicide. That, and the disaster of her going on to make a horrible movie.

reply

Dear Dave;

Yes; teen suicide is a "disaster"
and why this important film was made.

Your half right & that's a good start.

Happy trails to all...

reply

Well, too bad, because I've seen this subject done right in other films. NOT in this one.

reply

Dear Dave;

That's your opinion & NOT a 'good reason' still.

Happy trails to all...

reply

The username says David for a reason. Also, my saying that I've seen this subject done better in other films was never my reason for why this movie isn't good, it was a reply to your comment. Get it right.

reply

David, go through depression, then come back to us, ok? Thanks.

reply

Dear Buffy;

Good point there lady.

David just doesn't 'get it' is all
and there is NO "good reason" becuse
it isn't a "bad" movie.

His opinion is his alone, as the OP
points out here too.

Happy trails to all...

reply

And you saying it's a good movie is just your opinion. Everyone I know who has seen this movie has hated it. If there's no good reason as to why this is a bad movie then there is no good reason as to why it's a good movie. The negatives of the film heavily outweigh positives.

reply

Hey Buffy, I am diagnosed with anxiety disorder, depression, and social phobia disorder. I see a counselor and psychiatrist to help me with this. I've been through depression. I've had anxiety since I was a kid. I developed agoraphobia and was unable to leave my house or socialize. I know what depression is like, and the things it does which is why I hate this movie. This movie is a mockery. Don't *beep* tell me to go through depression and come back; I've been there, I'm still struggling with it, and I know a hell of a lot more than you or this dumbass bitch that wrote this screenplay. Maybe you should go through severe depression, isolation, and anxiety and watch the movie again. See how it makes you feel.

reply

Okay, well, I've attempted suicide 3 times and gone to a mental hospital. I've also been raped, beaten, and tormented. You think you know more? Fine.
