I'm this movie's #1 Fan!!

Hi! My name is Anastasia and i am this movie's #1 fan! I am in love with Johnny Pacar, but I love all the other actors and actresses. Celeste is great and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how she possibley manages to write that movie at the age of 14. I totally admire her for that!

It started out as a casual journal 'of sorts'.

After meeting her "big sister" Cindy, she worked on it even more. A while later (about a year)it was feature lenght and she was 14. With a lot of hard work & some good luck they started 'shooting' in 2001.

That's when I (#2 fan) met them and have been there friend every since.

If you go to their site www.purgatoryhouse.com you can get a DVD for twenty bucks.

Good luck, John M....

Who are you?

Don't you think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion of what God looks like?

Kudos to the talented filmmakers for a story that needed to be told, and for telling it in a way that was so unique and thought provoking. I can't wait to see this with my daughter, when she is a little older!

Its about the story of this girl named Silver Strand and what happens to her after she kills herself. Writing this, it sounds really morbid, but its not. In fact, it has this really weird, but good sense of humor to it. It takes place over 3 or 4 timelines, all mixed togethre. (but it's easy to follow)

It's really awesome, and like NO OTHER movie I have ever seen. It was actually written by this girl when she was only 13 or 14 years old! and she stars in it too. So it feels really honest and true to life. I really never knew what was going to happen next at any point. It's an AWESOME movie. The other actors are great. Johnny Pacar is INCREDIBLE, and Jim Hanks is really good --and funny too. Oh, and on the DVD, there's all of this "making of" extras, which is also awesome to see how it was all made. It was really inspiring. This is definatley one of my favorite movies. I highly recommend it.

i thought that this movie does have potential to be better. i felt very offended by how they portrayed God. it was so off. it would have been better if at the end they corrected it, cause i can sorta understand that someone who doesnt really know him would make up a way they think God might be like. she was way off with it. and there was a few things she said or did that werent correct either. it had a good idea of getting people to not fall into the drug and alcohol hype. and to not kill yourself, it just could have been better.

So who should god look like, George Burns?

reply

I'm a bit confused.

What is "god" supposed to look like, exactly?

It seems to me there are so many different answers to this question that maybe a person needs to answer this one for themselves, wouldn't you say?

I'm not trying to be rude when I ask, who are you to say what "god" looks like to Celeste Davis? Maybe to her, that is the image of "god". I don't think that you or myself or anyone else is qualified to tell her that she is wrong considering that NONE OF US has ever actually SEEN "god" with our own eyes. Of course, if you have a photograph you'd like to provide, I'm happy to admit that I'm wrong on that one.

ps: I don't think I need to remind anyone of the concept of artistic license.

Personally, I love the way God was portrayed (and I love this movie). It's clear that she was angry at God, and that's why she wrote God that way. But then at the end of the movie, she finally realizes that she needs God and asks for help! And then he answers her prayers! I love how the same actor who plays St. James is also God, and also the Doctor...as if it's to say that God is everywhere, but you have to look to see it.
