Bowser has become the Dr. Evil of video games... (spoilers)

Yes, the former villain of Austin Powers (he realized that they were brothers and turned good in Austin Powers in Goldmember) is who I'm making a reference to. I found out at the end of Super Mario Sunshine, that Shadow Mario is really Bowser's son Bowser Jr. (not to be confused with the young Baby Bowser in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, even thought they look the same. I guess all Monstrous Koopas, as look the same as babies) and this is all just another flimsy, corny plot to get Peach from Mario. What's worse is that we find out from Bowser that he lied to Bowser Jr. that Peach was his mother. That's not clever, that's stupid! Bowser
(and Nintendo) are simply running out of steam, even when in Super Princess Peach this time Bowser kidnaps the Super Mario Brothers themselves, but I think only to lure Peach to Bowser. Anyway, the Super Mario Bros. franchise has really turned into a stupid psychological drama. Bowser's been doing the same thing over and over again for years that he's changed from evil to psychologically impaired.
I think Bowser's time as a villain is running out of steam. I know you would all think it would ruin Bowser's character to remove him as a main villain, but his character has already been ruined and I don't think Nintendo can make him evil again. Unfortunately, he's developed a soft spot for Peach, only he doesn't understand that he can never have Peach no matter how much he tries. He used to be stone cold evil, but now he's a psychologically impaired fool.
Does anyone think that the Mario games needs a new villain? Or at least could they find out what happened to Bowser's real wife and Bowser Junior's real mother? I really would like that. The Mario games are not fun anymore doing the same thing over again. I would like something new. What about you all?

Ok listen Numb nuts. It is a video game its a comedy video game at that, its not to be taken seriously he was never Evil in the first place! He is a stereotypical bad guy that kidnapps the girl so shut up and get back in line!

Ok, ok, I now understand it's a comedy video game and shouldn't be taken seriously. All I'm saying is that Bowser has run out of steam (and so has Nintendo). I'm just suggesting that Bowser could retire and become a good guy like Wario and Donkey Kong, the former of which was just about as evil as Bowser, and they could find a new regular villain who is a funny stereotypical bad guy who kidnaps the girl like Bowser was, or maybe funny in a different way, because Bowser's funnyness became so stale. Usually using the same joke over and over again wouldn't work that well. Look what happened to the Austin Powers sequels when they recycled jokes. Bowser may be the stereotypical villain of the series, but he's not as funny as he used to be. Nintendo doesn't have to do this, but in my humble opinion, finding a new, just-as-funny villain would revive the series.

Have you ever heard of a running gag. Ya I think you should learn that. It's what make mario games. MARIO. In each mario bros. game the kidnapping of peach gets more interesting by the second. For example. In super mario world bowser kidnaps peach in a koopa kart. In Super mario 64 peach is baking a cake and gets kidnapped. In sunshine she gets kidnap by another mario who really is bowser junior. Now we wonder whats gona happen in super mario galaxy.

my arthur episode?

Fine why don't we make the villain a cute lil pink kitten. That's not a stereotypical bad guy.

Well, if you remember the Earthworm Jim series..there was a "sort of" cute cat called Evil the cat who ruled the planet Heck. And he was definitely one of my favorites too :D

Yes, I've heard of a running gag. But not all running gags last forever. The whole Bowser kidnapping Peach thing was at its peak when Bowser tricked Mario into coming into another adventure in Super Mario 64 but forging a letter by Peach that she had baked a cake, but by the time of Sunshine, it turned two-bit and started to go downhill. I think we need a new running gag because the one with Bowser has run out of steam. His most two-bit effort lately was kidnapping the Super Mario Bros instead of Peach, and having Peach go on an adventure (Super Princess Peach. It may be a bit overconfident, but Bowser was just trying to lure Peach to him. It reminds me of the "Different Names for Private Parts" joke in Austin Powers. It got stale by the time of Goldmember, and was worsened by "Mr. Stuuuiddddbloooeeeebaag" and his family!
So yes, it was at its most interesting at Super Mario 64, but after Paper Mario 1, Nintendo started to lose steam, and probably reached its nadir with Super Mario Sunshine. I haven't played Super Princess Peach, but I'm sure it got worse by then. My point: Not all running gags last forever.

Yah I agree. Sunshine was a Mario game that made the whole series go downhill. But I think it was also because of the lack of levels and difficulty in the game. I went back to play mario 64 the other day and I saw how much harder and unchildish it was.

I think a game ABOUT Bowser might be interesting. Anyone else think it might be neat to play as Bowser or Baby Bowser? I mean, we've had games about DK and about Wario. Why not Bowser?

And lol, what do you think they were doing when they created Wario and Waluigi? They were trying to spice things up and create that almighty New Bad Guy; they just didn't expect people to actually enjoy Wario and force them to make a game about him (of course I'm being facetious - does anybody actually LIKE Wario? However, he's put out some excellent games, haha).

Anyway, I've always enjoyed Bowser, at least for his character design and his original portrayal as bad guy. Now maybe they could add some dimension to him with his own game.

This is why nobody is sick of Zelda yet. We haven't reached game overload, or story repetition. And Ganon, though he JUST WON'T DIE, is STILL original. Always something different in each game. I mean, who else expected Zant?

Anyway. That's it for me.

"Potter! Potter, tell them I mean no harm!!!"

"Sorry Professor. I must not tell lies."
