Pretty good film, HOWEVER...

I thought that this was a good film, and a great film, considering the budget restraints and lack of experience that the entire cast and crew had obtained up to that point. However, I couldn't help but think of the far superior film "The Celebration". Manito seemed to borrow a lot from The Celebration. While there were a few questionable performances in Manito, all were solid in The Celebration. Also, given the characters and their surroundings in Manito, you could guess where the film was going. We've seen and heard of these types of things all too often, and in that respect I felt that the film lost some of its emotional impact.
