Raymond's attitude

anyone else notice that Deagan seemed a touch overconfident. (besides Sybil who gave him that look when she saw him speaking with Cathy for the first time)

the way the townspeople acted when he grabbed Cathy's arm on the street, yet he'd had no problem asking her to accompany him on a ride and to a restaurant - not at all fearful of what her husband might do if he found out? (completely independent of race, just hitting on another man's wife)

and what's up with such a great guy, widowed, charming young daughter, biz degree, biz owner, inherited dad's work and never remarried and no girlfriend in sight? including in his bar/restaurant - none of those women were "good enough" for him?

My bad, I might be projecting from his Waiting To Exhale role, I really hated his character in that movie

Something about his demeanor seemed slightly off.

Certainly for the circumstances he was very forward - I dismissed it as just moving the plot forward quickly. The events advanced a lot quicker than I expected. I thought there'd be a scene with Sybil telling Deagan to 'stay away from that white woman' before he took her somewhere.

All told it was a bit creepy how Cathy went to the train station to see him off - in a sequel she'd be flat out stalking him and probably murder his new wife in Baltimore.

I think you're a. Racist or b. A black woman who is always up in the butt of black men and thinks sinister when they don't want a black woman. Like stop being desperate black men don't want us. Who cares!
