What happened to the selenites?

I could not get it. In the end, what happened to the good ol'Selenites?...

A lot more then just that was missing from the storyline. There are huge chunks of plot pieces that just seem not to be there. I'm not gunna start saying this movie is the worst movie I have seen or anything like that but, it was missing a lot of things it should have had.

I supppose they all died. Look what's left of their world - Axis robbed them of all their water in order to grow humans a bridge to Earth.

Damn them humans!

I just finished watching this movie on TV. Grabbed my laptop to rate it on IMDB and check the forum. This was the thing I too was confused about. I mean, the queen was forced to "fuse"/join I suppose, right there at the end before velicron (or what was it called) saved the day thru/via Kaena.

But these sap-ppl seem to have been living there before that ship crashed/exploded in their atmosphere, and unless they all decided to move up into the huge inter-planetary tree, I would assume they are still alive somewhere.. Unless they all die when their queen dies, kind of like vampires.

I think reading, between the lines, they must have been destroyed.

Initially when the ship is destroyed the first scenes show the core building the tree, Axis.
We then see the selenites killing the alien surviours. I assume this is due to their race having been drained by the core to make the tree, allueded to in some of the later dialouge.
I think it would be safe bet the they were a life form on one of the planets, used as a resource to build the axis.
At the end of the movie we see more growth of the tree after the mating between the male and the queen.
Considering most of the sap left was being gathered was to sustain the remaining selenites, I doubt much would have been left behind at the end for their offspring.

They made it down to earth where that beaver looking thing was watching the roots decend into the water near the beach. I guess? CGI was good but story line left alot in the AIR. ;)
