It DOES exist!

I've been looking for this cartoon for a few years, and I was starting to think I had imagined it, cause none of my friends knew what I was talking about (seeing as I'm french, it's kinda weird that no one else would have ever seen it...). I'm so glad to see that it does exist, but I was wondering if anyone knows if there's a way to get in on DVD in Canada.

Cheers!

Yup! Funny thing, I remember it was somewhat popular back in '88? '89? and here in Mexico it was ... they called it "La Burbuja Azul" (the Blue Bubble) despite having Clementine in the intro. Maybe referencing the "blue bubble" her guardian fairy used to protect her???

well clementine is quite famous among the ones who are born between (1977-81)
in turkey aswell. i myself have weird memories about the series especially the carachter malmoth!! this cartoon is a fenomenon for people of my generation who are in their mid 20's today. u can find 3 episodes and the soundtracks from the link below http://arioch.alengir.org/clementine/ . please mail me back your opinions . the only thing i can remember is i was really terrified when wathching
it and all of the viewers do so. i feel lot of thinks i cant define clearly. it was a total horror show but addictive. i still rememmber afew things although i watched nearly all the episodes

Funny how we all stick with English as the communication langage on IMDB even though we definitely know that we are all either French or French speaking on this particular topic.
Otherwise, just like you guys I am in my mid-twenties and I realise that this cartoon had a huge impact on my psyche/imagination. It would be very odd to watch it again today.

P.S. I just found out that an English adaptation was done !

[deleted]

Ha ha! Must be very useful! But yet, it is still more than my Spanish (Hola Muchacho!).

I edited my message yesterday evening (the P.S.), I don't know why I could not imagine there could be an English (or Spanish?) adaptation of Clémentine.

I'm not looking for the show but the theme. If someone has a pretty good quality of it, let me know at [email protected].

reply

Yeah

Some of my friends thought I was nuts when I talked about watching Clementine when I was a kid, I mean, with the whole theme and characters (pretty creepy), but now...I've found it! So, that'a a relief. BTW, I loved the song of the opening credits.

I also used to watch "La ranita Demetan" (I'm from Mexico), a really disturbing cartoon about frog that lived in a pond, and a catfish that ate toads...ugh, I don't even know why I watched that stuff, but I did.

So, does anyone else knows this Demetan (I think that's how it's spelled) cartoon?

Seeya!

Here's a fairly good mp3 of the theme music:

Wow! This is so weird. I am 25 and vaguely remember this cartoon. I too felt growing up that I had imagined the whole damn thing since I couldn't find info anywhere on the net until only a few years ago. I only remember the theme song. Does anyone also remember the "Tom Sawyer" cartoon series way back in the early 80's? Any dvd's with english subs for either Sawyer or clementine for Region 1 (North America)?

The intro is on Youtube. Found it recently. Blast from the past it was, I found it looking for cartoons from my childhood in France. Watched a lot of Club Dorothee back then.

Et moi aussi je suis francophone. J'etais en France tout le temps quand j'etais jeune et j'etais toujours en train de regarder le Club Dorothee a sur la television. Y'a quoi d'autre comme dessanimes de notre enfance?

I am 25 and I remember watching Clemetine when I was little. As many of you have said, for a while I thought I imagined it but it's good to find out it is out there somewhere. The question is where. I would love to watch it again and the link below is no longer working. It would be great if someone can forward a link to episodes, link to DVDs if they exist etc.

Any info would be appraciated.

Does anyone remember a cartoon with a boy who ended up on a weird island with this pink dinosaour like thing after his ship sunk. The island was full of weird creatures as well as this pink thing and there was a mermaid who had this thing that would grant a wish and throughout the whole show there was this dilemma about whether she should wish for a "prince" or wish for this boy to be back with parents etc.

Hopefully I am not making this one up either!

wow, I haven't checked this in ages... thanks for the info though guys, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who was into this show as a kid...

Hello; you mentioned this DVD is for sale in France. Do you know of a reputable internet source? I checked on Amazon France and the only two people with DVDs for sale were rated at 75% or less.

Thanks.

Hi there everybody, I'm a 26 years old girl from Italy. I'm so glad there's other people that actually remember this cartoon, cos everytime I asked about it I got the "hey, are you on acid?" glance and it was frustrating. As I can remember it was hired once here in the middle 80ies...I'd love to watch it again. (I could even buy the french dvd!!!) Does anyone know if it's sold on ebay??? Is there any chance to find it in english? Thanx in advance.
p.s.Saludos a todo los amigos mexicanos (viva la raza!)

Yeah i remember that! It was a good cartoon with well drawn characters, as far as i remember.

There was another anime movie with a similar creature and a few people trying to protect it from some "army guys". Anyone know the name?

BTW, it is good to have you back, nb-onal.. :)

I'd like to thank for the mp3 address. I loved Clementine as much as anyone here. Kids do recognise quality in a cartoon, when they see one as wierdly nice as this.

I've noticed so many people have so many different types of "witty" signatures

WOW! I too have had this cartoon show on my mind for years (especially the song), but i couldn't remember much about it and no one else i talked to knew what i was talking about! I really looked silly humming the song on and on... But i just remembered the name and had to google it! It's good to know there were others like me :) I'm now 25, it was aired here in Portugal sometime in the 80's. I'll go download the song now :)

Hi All,

Am almost 27 and living in The Netherlands for 20 years.
Before my teens and maybe at the beginning of my teens I too watched Clementine, and fortunately it was dubbed in English, although Candy Candy, Tom Sawyer, Swiss Family Robinson and Little Women were in Dutch HEHE. The Mysterious Cities of Gold were dubbed in English as well.
Most of the time I tuned out, as it became too much sometimes (I really hate the bad guys, although some working together with the baddie are to be envied, they were paid/forced to harm Clementine >__<).
What I love most are the theme song and the little kitten ^__^
