Hello, my girlfriend, who is a psychology major, liked this movie quite a bit, mainly because it's a psychological thriller that involves profilers. I am looking for movies similar to Mindhunters, and naturally, IMDB's forum was the first place I turned to. Any recommendations at all will be greatly appreciated!

shareTaking Lives starring Angelina Jolie is quite good. Has a bit of a twist. Mindhunters is better but I'm sure your girlfriend will like Taking Lives just the same.
Blood Work is also good. It has Clint Eastwood as a retired profiler.

You're welcome. I figured she would at least enjoy Taking Lives even though it is not, in my opinion, up to parr with Mindhunters. And if she liked both of those movies she should definitely find enjoyment in Blood Work.

Fracture...it's not as violent but alot of psychology in it, I too have a Psy major and enjoyed this movie very much. I must agree Blood Work is great, as well as Taking Lives, I also recommend Seven or Red Dragon
shareI'm sorry - I have read many comments here stating that Blood Works is great and I have to say something. Blood Works is ok BUT if you want a much more fulfilling look at the subject matter for your girlfriend get her to read Michael Connelly's book on which the film was based. In the movie they changed the ending significantly, even making someone else be the killer with an explanation which was nowhere near as good as the book - and didn't make any sense to me.

Manhunter, based on the novel Red Dragon by Thomas Harris, is the godfather of all 'profiler' movies. That's a good place to start. Certainly see it before the awful remake with Edward Norton.

Movies which come to mind not unlike Mindhunters are probably The Bone Collector starring Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, Insomnia starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank, Butterfly On A Wheel starring Pierce Brosnan and probably Deja Vu starring Denzel Washington and Val Kilmer.
Definitely worth a look here in IMDb or a quick rent at Blockbuster.
