Acrually i found it haunting and sad when i first read about the shoes in "her name, titanic" which was an account of robert ballards dives to the titanic...before CAmeron ever thought about a film...I found the description moving even without seeing the pictures...the only thing more moving is the shot of the baby doll.
As for protection the question shouldnt be why isnt the titanic protected, but why arent other shipwrecks protected equally well?
Its not the fault of titanic that other wrecks arent protected anymore than its the fault of Gettysburg that other battlefields have shopping malls on them
