Closing song
Does anyone know the name of the song at the end of the tape, and who sings it?
shareI just watched it but now I forget who sings it. It's called "Perfect Day" though, that I remember.
shareI love that song. Here are the lyrics.
The rain has moved on,
And left a new day.
Nothing seems to move,
Everything is still.
It's just a perfect day.
The shadows and light,
That move with the wind.
Hidden violets grow,
splashed with summer spray.
Just another perfect day.
On the wild and misty hillside,
fear is nature's warning
hunger here, is never far away.
(repeated)
And all of this world,
is for children who play.
Days that never end always should remain.
For another Perfect Day
The singer is Miriam Stockley. The guy who wrote it is called Colin Towns.
After thinking it over - i have decided not to have a signature.
Yes it's called Perfect Day and sung by Miriam Stockley.
shareTHANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU PEOPLE! The song has been haunting me for YEARS and I never knew the name! On top of that I lost the tape so only remembered the melody. It brings back so many memories.
Thank you guys so much!!

Ditto, thanks heaps been searching for it for ages :).
shareOMG i just spent 4 afternoons searching every search engine i know for that song! Doesn't it bring back such great memories, its amazing. The series was my absolute favourite, the stories and books transport you!
shareIt brings back so many memories, i used to watch the program and remember her walking out and posting the letter at the end of the episode. And her pet rabbit.
I wish i could see another episode without having to buy it :(
For those of you in US I know Wal-Mart used to sell the videos, with a CD soundtrack included! I was lucky enough to find one and the soundtrack is gorgeous all on its own. It also has "Perfect Day" on it, if that's all you're looking for (but so does Miriam Stockley's own CD). Just a heads up ;)

Dear Louvelex,
Thank you for the information on the closing song. I, too, had lost the tapes. I will look on itunes for the song.
I see where there are sellers on e-bay selling the 3 volume VHS tapes, which is what I remember watching. But, do you happen to know if the same is available on DVD?
Thanks very much,
Bob

no problem :)
actually, about a day after making that post i ended up buying the dvd volumes online...and they were so, so worth it.
you should be able to find the 2 dvd set on any major movie/bookstore website such as barnes & noble, borders, or best buy. i got mine from best buy..which seemed to be the cheapest. most of these places don't carry them in the store, so your best bet is looking online.
~Louvelex
Wow, thanks for the fast reply!
I see where there is a 4-DVD disc collection, and you mention a 2-DVD disc set. Are the same, I wonder?
no problem. i just happened to be online when your reply came, haha.
hmm. i'm seeing a four disc thing on bestbuy.com...but i don't think thats the same series. not the one you want anyway. it should be a blue two disc set with a picture of pete rabbit on the front.

C'est un chapeau >>
I just found Miriam Stockley's CD called "Miriam" with "Perfect Day" at Amazon. It's possible to buy just that song, but she has such a wonderful voice, I'm buying the CD! I've been looking for this for a long time, and now it's available here! It seems Miriam was part of the group Adiemus, so it's good news for their fans as well.
