Was this actually filmed in Rhode Island or somewhere doubling for it?

The very LA cast and multitude of tight "location" shots make me suspicious. It would be cool if it was filmed in New England (even though it doesn't seem like too good a movie) but that was pretty rare before the last couple years when places like RI, MA, and CT changed their film incentives and tax break laws.
