american remake casting choices

once i heard they were gonna make a remake, i had to jump on imdb! it obviously shows that many people have heard/read about it and that Queen Latifah was mentioned for the lead!?!? gimme a break. she lost weight, but not THAT much weight. she don't look like she can exactly kick azz unless she did it with a bat, metal pipe, or her scissor knives SLOPPILY. i'd like to just throw out KELLY HU out there as the lead instead. at least she has some kind of martial arts background.

the sick sister with the last request - GRACE PARK or LINDA PARK or CHRISTY CHUNG or SUNG HI LEE or SANDRA OH or MICHELLE YEOH or TIA CARRERE or DEVON AOKI

ok hater, i guess none of that will work. queen latifah is probably the better idea than any of mine. thanks for your input and very respectable opinion.

If they're doing a remake, it will be without asian actors, thats the point of a remake, otherwise they'd just dub it.

imo imma have to disagree with you there. the point of the remake is to "keep it the same" yet make it appeal to an american audience and that does not necessarily X out all asian-american actors. harold and kumar have asian-american leads, although it's my only example it still is an example and made enough to get a sequel. supposedly chow yun fat is to reprise his role as tequila for john woo's hard-boiled, not as a sequel but for an american remake. if that actually happens that would make your statement invalid and i would be more than happy to come back to this board and say "told u so." BUT then again, thats the only example i can think of also...but some of u cannot deny that queen latifah is a bad choice. for the "my sassy girl" remake they got the girl next door's elisha cubert to play ji-hyun's character. not bad i guess, but other people wouldn't mind seeing grace park and john cho in the leads. for my wife is a gangster, i definitely wouldn't mind kelly hu as the lead wouldn't u?
