Whoa, where did all the posts go?

There's like a handful of threads, that's all. Anybody else just see a few recent comments on this movie?

sometimes imdb can be really random about purging boards. go check out some less known films and sometimes they've still got active threads from 2004 in them even though there have been no posts in over a decade.

baby can you dig your man?

I suspect they wipe them out to try to make it seem people hate this movie. Because they know its a bad ass movie.

Why am I such a misfit? I am not just a nitwit.

The boards were shut down in 2016 due to politics an political correctness. Any boards that appeared to support Trump were scrubbed. Then the Milo/Leslie Jones incident. It was a shit show and the best part of IMDB suffered as a result.

Do you think it has significantly impacted the traffic to IMDB? I almost never go there after they killed the message boards.

reply

I do. I used to have IMDB open in it's own tab for years until they shut down the boards. I only go there now for filmography if its not listed under actors here. I just went there and I see it's been purchased by Amazon, so that explains why it still exists.

reply

Wasn't it always funded/supported by Amazon, or at least years before they grenaded the message boards?

It was always a tragedy that the message boards got nuked given how little resources they consumed and how valuable they were for film buffs. Outside of some titles and new releases, spam and politics were never big problems.

I especially loved the long retention for cult/older films. I got follow ups sometimes to postings that were years old, or discovered the same, finding an answer/trivia not available elsewhere about minor talent or obscure films.
