Lavondyss - Robert Holdstock
Thought i'd continue in the "tradition" of the Gilmore Girls thread ...
I first heard of Joseph Campbell through a jacket comment on the book Lavondyss by Robert Holdstock. This fantasy book is a rather deep exploration of the origin of myth, the first storytellers, and a collective unconscious racial memory (for the race of mankind, I suppose, but Holdstock's fiction is steeped in British lore).
Now I haven't seen this Bill Moyers series yet thought it's in my Netflix queue. I wonder if other people have read Robert Holdstock's books (Mythago Wood deals with very similar themes) and whether they could comment on how closely his ideas match those of Campbell's.
