Good grief, this is what not haveing The Movie Channel gets you! This and TNT's Monstervision sound similar. Too bad I missed this earlier venue for Joe Bob.

Yeah, I never had a big cable package in the '80s/'90s with movie channels and such, so I'd never heard of Joe Bob until I discovered "MonsterVision" in the mid-90s. It quickly became a Friday (then, later, Saturday) night staple with me, and I was sad when it ended in 2000.
The only downside is that, with "Drive-In Theater," Joe Bob only appeared at the beginning and end of movies. But on "MonsterVision," he would also appear during the commercial breaks. So it was kind of a trade-off. While the movies on "MonsterVision" were edited, we also got a lot more Joe Bob, which I think was a good deal. :)
