Probably don't show it anymore cause it's to good for Disney

They probably don't show it anymore because all the other newer ones will loose popularity. It's too good for the "new" Disney.

reply

Yeah I agree with you, now all disney channel plays is superficial crap like high school musical, the cheetah girls, and jump in. Atleast Tru Confessions was real and had good acting, unlike most of their movies now.

Don't you find it strange, that maybe hsm lovers etc..(new disney movies) they could have still watched zoog (or at leas told) disney? If a hsm lover (lets say, 15 years old) They would be ten watching this. And that's not that young to not remember zoog disney?? How could they forget this movie and say HSM was the best dcom? I am SOO SICK of hsm, and, yes, all that superficial crap that the abover poster called it.

Will they show it on black history month? Maybe? I know, it's about black history, but, like the color of friendship, deals with rasiscm, tru confessions is isn't "racist", it doesn't deal with the color of your skin or heratige, but it *does* deal with how you should accept other people, as special kids, and not be so awful to humans that are just like you, only have different problems and needs.

reply

Yea i agree, lately theyve been playing the same movies over and over again, and if the movie isnt high school musical, its a movie thats not even a DCOM. Lately, they've only been playing the good movies on holidays or events =[

What happens if someone falls of a cliff? Go figure it out yourself...

reply

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the same thing. I think they've only shown it once after it's premiere, and that was a while ago.
Disney feeds kids these days crap like The Cheetah Girls and Hannah Montana. Disney has pretty much gone to hell.

reply

The children who watch all the fake, superficial shows like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, etc, wouldnt appreciate Tru Confessions. They wouldnt understand it because it is real and they are so drowned in the fakeness that is Hannah Montana that their shrinking brains couldnt comprehend it.

reply

daddylonglegs29--perfect. You summed up everything Disney has become.

reply

Agreed.
I remember watching this movie when it came out, and I cried my heart out. I was only ten years old and didn't quite grasp the emotional content, but it still touched me.
I wish Disney would have more programs dealing with serious problems such as mental illness, abuse [shown in an episode of Boy Meets World], liars on the Internet [Sister Sister ep.], death [another BMW ep.], and try to teach kids that life isn't full of rainbows and sunshine all the time. That you have to take responsibility. New Disney is just so disappointing.

i saw it once-loved it, and it was never on again

also i miss, like wen they plaid classics (eg.lion king) or on nick-double dare/animorphs

Well the few older Nick shows Nick does show are all not shown on basic cable. Nick used to have some great shows, and now it's gone so wrong (it's worse than current Disney I think).

None of the networks show genuine shows anymore for kids, that actually teach them about stuff. Now all the shows are about a group of kids attempting to fit in with the "popular" crowd or get the cute guy from down the hall to like them. I mean even Saved by the Bell had good morals in their episodes (remember when Jessie began taking speed or something). Plus that show encouraged kids to hangout with whoever they wanted. I mean it was a group of a geek, macho jock, popular school hunk, school babe, smart girl, and whatever mold Lisa took up. (I love Saved by the Bell by the way lol)

This movie should be airing instead of Life Is Ruff I think. This movie is so good and sends such a great message of acceptance, where now all everyone wants is to be popular. Parents say Disney is good for their kids because it doesn't haven't cussing or sex, but it doesn't teach them anything either. They should have more topics like peer pressure (they did have that one episode of That's So Raven where Cory was stealing but they need more; most of the other episodes are about trying to get into a party or Eddie trying to get in some frat), acceptance, and other things.

reply

I agree! This was the only Disney Movie i could consider a real movie. It wasn't trying to make life look all cheesy and happy...it showed dilemnas that real humans face. I loved it. It made me cry and smile. I loved it. They need to show it again.

I'm 14 so i saw this when I was 9, and I still think it was the best Disney movie.

The Color of Friendship was good too. It's hard to imagine now that Disney Channel would make a movie about apartheid.

I watched Tru Confessions, and I absolutely, LOVED the movie. I grew up watching the greatest disney channel ever, with Growing Pains reruns, Boy Meets World, In a Heartbeat, so Weird, famous jett jackson, and so many other countless shows that Disney barely bothers to show or put out on dvd. I like High School Musical, but is it better than the earlier DCOMs. No way. It's the first and best musical on the channel, but its nothing compared to the other DCOMS.

I miss the old dramatic series that used to be on DC, and all the stupid crap thats on now is junk. I can't stand any of the cartoons, and the only show i can stand to watch is Hannah Montana, but still, its not that great of a show. Disney isn't even Disney anymore, its manufactured and manipulated versions of what people think Disney is about. Disney is crap and they need to bring back the older shows. There's nothing 'serious' about disney anymore, and the only reason I watch DC anymore is to see the reruns of Boy Meets World.

We need to email disney and tell them what a huge mistake they've made.

And maybe the way time has changed, no one is interested in teen dramas or old black and white tv shows like Zorro or Mickey Mouse Club, but at least it was decent tv.

Bring back In a Heartbeat and all the great DCOMs like Tru Confessions!

At least the have the decency to show the Color of Friendship during Black History month. That's another one I liked. Another 'new' DCOM that wasn't half bad was Tiger Cruise, and they show that on the Fourth of July.

Oh well, maybe with all this posting Disney will do something with their scheduling.

End rant. =]

completely agreed! if it did come out 5 years ago like everyone's been saying (I don't remember how long ago it was) I would have been 12...and it was my favorite movie! I watched it every time it came on, it was amazing! and Shia LaBeouf played the character so well! and Boy Meets World was definatly one of the best shows on the disney channel.

reply

I loved this movie. And they showed it sometime last year I think so, don't say Disney doesn't show their older movies anymore. Disney is a great channel still, and if you guys are too "grown up"(which that's more like what this is about)for it, STOP WATCHING IT. You keep dissing stuff you "hate", so why watch it anymore and complain? That's stupid and childish. So grow up and stop watchin DC if you hate all it's "superficial" shows and movies.

reply

I agree... they cut out all of the good episodes of all those shows... it's not right. kids need to learn about things like death, and mental disability. If they think that when you can't sing and your acting is horrible, but you have a pretty face you can get places in life. I just love how all of a sudden everyone from disney channel is a "world renouned musical artist". ya right... it's only because the mommies and daddies of the kids who watch the show buy them 12 copies of each cd...

reply

Yeah Disney Channel pretty much has gone to hell. With their Hannah Montana,HSM and all that other crap is pretty much a waste of time.I really love Tru Confessions.Disney Channel only plays garbage now.I mean that movie jump in really sucks ass.Now everyone is totally focused on HSM2.I don't know if anyone noticed but Disney Channel hasn't come out with any movies like Tru Confessions since Tru Confessions. They're afraid they will lose their young viewers i guess. That's a load of bull if you ask me.They need to show movies like that to inform their young viewers about the real world.

I'm 15 but this has got to be my most favorite DCOM ever.

Everybody done known that song, workin' for a livin' the whole day long. All the live long day!

yea i'd have to agree.........i mean this filn looks like the kind of film that wud be entered as a drama in a cannes film festival or sumptin

reply

Okay, I've read every single post on here. Now it's my turn.

Yes, I agree, Disney Channel does have its controversial shows and movies playing these days. HOWEVER, some movies these days like "Jump In!" actually teach kids something. I know that "Jump In!" was quite silly and kind of dull, but the main moral of that movie, in my opinion, was that for kids to go out and accomplish their dreams, no matter what anyone else thinks.

As for High School Musical, that movie was about the worst DCOM I have ever seen. Thank you for reading that harsh comment :-)

In my opinion, "Tru Confessions" is, and will be the only GOOD movie Disney will ever come out with. It teaches every person who watches it, or reminds them, that with each and every day, no matter if someone is mentally disabled, physically disabled, etc etc, we all need to treat them like equals. I hate how these days when some idiots at my school (I'm 16 by the way), make fun of the mentally handicapped kids at our school. I'm so sick of hearing the teasing, I just want to smack them!!

I'll admit, I have a mental "Difference". My 'situation' is called Sensory Integration. If you dont know what that is, look it up.

I think Disney has pretty much stopped putting effor into their shows and movies. I'm starting to think that there is some other writer/screenwriter etc that came in and started making crap shows like "Hannah Montana".

Thank you for reading .

NO ONE SAID that we watch it, maybe some do, but on one SAID it, we are saying that before there were much better things on, and now all the stuff is like "Something goes wrong, OH NO! They have a way ti fix it, everybody goes back happy! YAY!" If I don't like the shows, I don't watch who said I torture myself watching shows I don't like? We are just saying that it would be nice if someone actually put something on that HAPPENS IN THE REAL WORLD!

You are on the money with your comments. I'm 19, and I'm just so glad that I grew up when Disney channel actually put thought into their movies and shows without just making some less than average movie and plastering some cliche moral on it. I'm seriously worried about the kids of today that are watching television and buying into that crap. I agree with you about Jump In and yeah I did watch it by the way. Yeah sometimes I watch kid stuff. Sue me. :0) When Tru Confessions first came out I remember the promos and it was like ooh, shia labeouf is getting serious. It was a must see for me. And when I saw it, I thought it was sooo good. It dealt with real issues and even then I thought, its great that disney is addressing this. I bet they had to fight to get that movie out there though. Anyway it really touched me and I loved the acting. Great, now I want to see it. Like I have said before. If they are not going to put more into their shows/movies then I wish they would at least show more of the older movies. Okay, I understand that they have to have comedies and stuff like that, but theres nothing even semi-serious to counteract the overacting and exaggerated antics, and the squeals and falls. That aside, I think Tru Confessions is the best DCOM in respect to the subject matter and the fact that it is the most relatable to the non-Disney movies.

*Gasp and swoon, I just caught the vapors*

Yea like I'm 15 now so I was probably around 10 when that movie came out n yea it was a good movie b/c it was true. n now n they need to stop playing those mini-shows in the commercial slots like the show about collecting stuff like I remember like zoog disney n it was zoog disney n then it changed to disney channel but then they went back to zoog disney n it was like the best. I was soo excited but then it changed again n that time it changed it got worse with all the new shows like "cory in the house" n "the replacements" like what is that showing kids it is ok to have them replaced if u dont like them!!! wtf!?!?! like I watched it when the messages in the shows were like the simple things that kids needed to grow up hearing!!

Disney Channel is really going down hill! I LOVE this movie but they won't show it anymore!!!

IDK if anyone has AT&T On demand, but it is on right now, actually. Never seen it, heard good things, gonna give it a watch!

There should be a Disney Channel Movie channel. The main Disney Channel is not going to show movies that they made more than a decade ago. Thus, they need to make a special channel that is dedicated to showing all of the Disney Channel Original movies. There are now 100 movies for them to show, so they have enough content to air 24/7.
