some of the events in Ichi the killer were quite similar to the ones in battles without honour and humanity?? the characters of Shozo and Kakihara. both of them caused trouble for their gang and as an apology they cut a piece of their bodies, is this like a "thing" between yakuza or did the makers of ichi the killer steal the idea?? what do you people think?

It's supposedly a real life yakuza thing, they punish failures by cutting fingers off. In the movie when they are talking punishment they say something like a finger isn't enough for this. So he cuts his tongue.

It's in a lot of movies.
