Kakihara's Iridescent Coat

I couldn't follow the story in this film, so I mostly spent my time looking at the cool coats everyone was wearing. The one the cop was wearing, with the faux-crocodile type skin was cool, but Kakihara's was my favorite.

I've looked around, and people are calling the fabric it's made out of "Sharkshin". However, I've not been able to find anything that looks as cool as his coat, because it appears that people don't want to make flashy clothing, and are using sharkskin for only a small color fade. Whereas in the movie, it almost looked computer generated, the way his coat was completely changing colors as he wanted to duel.

Anyone had any luck?

I thought it could have been an Iridescent Taffeta?

I get it up, I get it up in the dark, I make her feel I'm not a holy man

A year late, but in case other people reading this would be interested:

The shiny iridescent material is indeed called "sharkskin". It's not normally used for an entire coat, though. I have no idea where you could buy clothes like Kakihara's, but you might try at BDSM/fetish shops or gay subculture shops.

Or not. Any fabric store will carry an irridescent fabric like this, though in what colour I could not say. Good luck making a whole suit out of it, it's expensive stuff.

Sharkskin Taffeta. You may be able to find it easily in vintage shops. =)

It's always after I lose things that I realize how very significant the things I've lost are.
