West Virginia looked like Middle-Earth!

Now I´ve never been to West Virginia, most of what I know about it comes from the X-files (wich I guess was shoot in Canada or something) but some of the scenes in this movie make it look like it´s a damn fantasy florest, I mean, the thing is Huge! Is it really like that?

I thought the same thing at times, like when they were up the top of the old watchtower.
