The Auk
Is it just me, or is the Auk bigger on the inside than it is on the outside? The kitchen is very spacious. Was there a lower level?

shareAdding on... In the commentary they mention that this is a typical "net loft" style building. I couldn't figure out what kind of building that is, but the best guest is a place to keep fishing nets out of the weather. Looks to be a low-level attic there, but getting nets in and out of that must be a pain (and drippy down below), so I'm guessing the whole structure is intended for that purpose.
From what I can see, the building's outside floorplan is about 40 feet by 20. Small. I always wonder, with restaurants having small numbers of tables, how much that adds into the food price.
I'm glad that they kept the kitchen small. I think most movies would have made it outrageously large and important, regardless of how it would have fit.
