"Leaving Metropolis, the directorial debut of Brad Fraser (writer of Queer as Folk) , is based on his play "Poor Superman" (1994). This is a movie that can speak to many of us about the process of looking for inspiration, both personally and creatively, in a challenging world. When released in 2002, the film screened at many gay film festivals, both nationally and internationally, but failed to receive a wide release. It is a film that speaks to the artist within us that is seeking a muse and looking for love and the acknowledgment of our desires."
