Face coming out of the diary -- was this a real scene?

I have a weird "mandela effect" memory that I'm not sure is real. I saw this in theatres when I was 12 with a friend from school, and I clearly remember a jump-scare when Harry is writing in Tom Riddle's diary and aface suddenly pops out from the pages of the book. It's so clear in my mind, and I even remember my friend and I laughing together the next day about how much that face scared us and made us almost scream in the theatre. However, I watched the movie again last night for the first time in years, and I was waiting for that moment during the diary scene, but it never came. There was no face. Now I'm wondering whether that part was cut out (perhaps because the CGI hadn't aged well) or if I just completely made this up. Was there ever a face coming out of the book? I have no idea how I could have just imagined this all, as it's such a clear memory, but I'm beginning to think that's the case.
