I love this comment!

The Chamber of Secrets is actually my favourite of the Harry Potter films. It may be the longest, but it's incredible pacing makes it feel a lot shorter than it really is. I could probably watch it day in and day out and never grow tired of it. Now granted, half of that is due to the nostalgic value it has for me, but I truly believe it is one of the better instalments in the franchise. Nothing anyone can say will change that.

I wish the fifth film would have been longer since it felt short but that one suffered book wise from bad pacing which the film did a better job with.

I even watched the extended version of COS and that brings the length to about 3 hours haha.

I disagree with it being the worst of the series, but then again I can't really make up my mind with is the best or the worst of the series. But just be glad that all the rest of the movies, then next one that was released was longer then the last one released.

If they included every scene in the 2nd book, it should have been longer. So the fact that you hate it at this length, you would have been fumed if it had been what it should have been.

Why would you want a word for word adaptation?

You know why later HP films are better than the first two (aside from GOF which is damn near incoherent) because they realized that film is a different medium from books.

Prisoner of Azkaban is the best film because it realizes that film is a visual medium and cuts down on the exposition.

The books are better but the non-Gof films are superior to the Columbus soulless adaptations.

This movie is the length it is because Columbus didn't cut so much content out of the god damn book, which is more than what I can say for most other directors like Steven Spielberg when he did Jurassic Park
