Name me 20 things wrong with it!!!

It was crap and i can think of many things wrong with it!!!!!!

reply

1: Dark mood lighting through out the movie gave me a headache.
2: whats her name was much better in Ronin.
3: gives the internet a bad name
4: torture scenes were way to inexpilcit
5: did I mention the bad lighting
6: why could't they trace the Doctor's site?
7: based on the ring (which was one bad movie)
8: why didn't Denise head splatter over the car roof when she landed?
9: how come the German guy spoke perfect english in the cam corder?
10: relies on paranormal, which is all unbelievable stuff
11: should've stuck with the Doctor's torture stuff
12: I'll come up with more later

reply

sorry to "interrupt" you.

9: how come the German guy spoke perfect english in the cam corder?

Did he?

I'm screaming at the top of my lungs pretending the echoes belong to someone - someone I used to know.

reply

Man, I've walked past this so many times in my local rental place and pondered getting it out. Now I never need to ponder that ever again. Thanks guys!

The forensic programmer inserts a floppy disk backwards when she's trying to disconnect from "feardotcom.com".

1 Take asperin
2 Ronin was a decent flick,,,yes
3 The internet a bad name? Been to any stupid websites lately? :P
4 As far as torture scenes go it was not the best... but then I don't care for torture all that much anyway.
5 Yes the lighting was bad.
6 Because the doctor was smart enough to use a proxy server. If you are smart enough to put a website up that kills people than you can probibly mask you site so it cannot be traced.
7 Major disagreement. The Ring killed though the original Japanese Ringu was far better.
8 he he he... you would like that wouldn't you
9 Because if he spoke German in the film none of the english speaking audience members would know what he was saying and the film makers know that english speakers are too lazy to read subtitles.
10 So did the Exorcist. But then again, paranormal is what all horror flicks have in common.
11 Agreed... but too much torture leads to audiences getting upset stomachs.
12 Please do.

And let me add my own thing I hated worst....

You don't see Natascha McElhone naked!

reply

really, EnemyOfTheState? you can't be serious. you just can't be. do you even know what German sounds like? the kid was screaming in German when he was brought in to the station or wherever that place was that he died. he was speaking MOSTLY in German throughout his scenes!! he had one line in English. one. that's it. the rest was German.

I realize this is an ancient post, but I've got to respond to this:

8: why didn't Denise head splatter over the car roof when she landed?

I'm no medical examiner, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that between the way the roof of the car gave some under the impact of the body and the car's suspension system would create a sort of cushioning effect that would prevent a head from just exploding like ceedoubleyou expected to see. It's not like she landed on pavement, which doesn't give unless something extremely heavy lands on it.

Ever seen that scene in Two If By Sea where Denis Leary teaches the kid how to catch a raw egg? Same idea.

12. The ridiculous "you take one computer and add another computer" speech.
13. Whats his name was better in Blade. Sad.
14. The Ronin chick getting stabbed by the doctor with what appears to be a turkey baister, only to have no visible damage done to her neck a scene later.
15. The woman screaming "you're going to kill me, aren't you?!" as shes hung by her arms, naked, being caressed with a knife, and blindfolder for good measure. My friends and I all screamed "no *beep* as a reply.
16. Wow was there bad lighting.
17. "My daughter was a hemophiliac; she was afraid of the slightest sharp objects." 5 seconds later in the scene: "oh yeah, thats the rusty decaying scrap yard of an abandoned steel mill where she loved to play as a child. You know, a natural place for a hemophiliac to romp at."
18. The commentary featured no formal apology. In fact, the director thought he produced a work of art, complimenting the movie on many occasions (I bought it discount for obvious reasons).
19. Was apparently filmed entirely during a solar-eclipse.
20. Actual name of the site in the movie: Feardotcom.com. Even the name of the movie was botched.

reply

thanks maroon.........

I bet you they made it feardotcom.com because fear.com was already taken, and they didn't want to pay copyright fees to the people that own fear.com. And basically they know that a lot of people would be visiting the site just from the movie, so they had to make a site. I guess that was the cheapest alternative. Also, I havent seen the movie yet, but the trailer actually looks pretty good. I guess they managed to screw it up huh.

Hey you know whats funny. I always thought that dogs..um..laid eggs. And I learned something today.

reply

fear.com is the worst movie i've ever seen. I wish i could come up with 20 things that were wrong with it, but that would mean that i would have to see it again and i can't bear that thought. PS, maroonmachine, you are absolutely right. of the many, many things that bothered me about the movie, the fact that the website was actually called feardotcom.com was, by far, the one that bothered me the most. Im glad i'm not the only one that noticed it....

reply

Fear.com is the name of another website. Probibly the owners of the site were not offered enough money.

I need more parts...

reply

I watched this movie when I just had surgery and couldn't move out of bed. I watched about 45 mins of it and had such a bad headache from the damn continuous dark blue lighting, not the mention the horrible plot and dialogue that I shut it off and went to sleep. The movie wasn't one bit scary, it was actually funny at times. Do yourself a favor and never bother to see this rubbish.

reply

How about how it even mentioned a female hemeophiliac, it's physically impossible for a female to be a hemeophiliac.

reply

Not to say this movie wasn't HoRRiBLE but don't say stupid facts (aimed at connor). If you have ever taken a science class, hemophilia is sex-linked and recessive. That means the mother would be a CARRIER of hemophilia and the father would be a hemophiliac. Both would pass on the gene along with the X chromosomes and that's when you are proven to be an Idiot.

PS. The movie SUCKED!

reply

Then you haven't taken the whole science class, any female which contracts two genes for hemophilia is stillborn at birth.

mcottier wrote: "I bet you they made it feardotcom.com because fear.com was already taken, and they didn't want to pay copyright fees to the people that own fear.com."

I thought the same thing when I saw it. What a stupid site name! The movie just goes downhill from there. I felt especially bad for the actress who was in Ronin and Solaris. She's a talented actress, but they gave her no character to work with. Most of the time, she just looked like a deer caught in the headlights. ("OMG! What am I doing in this awful movie?!")

My friend and I still make fun of that part where the director's trying to make sense of the random murders he's already shot, so he has the one detective announce that he "did some investigating" and found out one victim was afraid of drowning. Where did THAT come from?

reply

Uhhh........no, it would be YOU that obviously hasn't taken the entire science class.......a hemophiliac father and mother that carries the gene CAN and HAVE produced female children that were hemophiliacs that were NOT stillborn. Check out the National Hemophilia Foundation's website for proof.

From www.hemophilia.org:

"The incidence of hemophilia A is one in 10,000 live male births. About 17,000 Americans have hemophilia. Women may have it, but it's very rare."
"The only way a woman could ever have hemophilia is if her father has it and her mother carries the gene. Women who are carriers can also be symptomatic carriers, whereby they do experience factor deficiencies."

I'm sure the women that are living with hemophilia would argue with your assertion that they were stillborn.

reply

ok, then you were taught by an incompetent teacher. they are not always stillborn. girls can be born alive and grow up being a hemophiliac.

reply

It's not impossible. They just die after thier first period. There is medication that promotes blood clotting for people who have the disease less severly than others.

reply

and you are officially an idiot or just really bad with jokes. die after their first period. how stupid.

reply

i've never seen it but it sounds like a copy of horrorvision. It has the almost same plot. You visit a scary website and then u end up dying.

reply

Natascha McElhone seems too gay for this genre of movie

Yeah, it was absolute crap.

I don't recall 20 things (it was just terrible overall), but I do remember a phone conversation that was pretty wacky. She said something very calm, then screamed and yelled "Who are you???" for no apparent reason. Maybe it had some heavy editing done?

My memory is fuzzy (it's not really worth remembering), except that this movie was one of those where you come out of the theater and think about the other things you could have done with your life instead of waste it on this trashy flick.

reply

Everybody had a mysterious operating system on their computers. At first, I thought that Denise was a Linux freak, but then everybody had that OS! Also, hemophiliacs can die extremely easily. What surprised me was her ability to clot her blood when that dude was torturing her. She should've kept on a-bleedin'. They also tried to make a freaky little kid with that little girl, but she was just not freaky.

That why I stay at home and watch this crap on TV,...can't reveal how, but I don't pay for the vitriol on the tube either. With gas at appx. $3.50 a gal. It makes even less sense to go to a theater unless it's something I really wanna see on the Big Screen,...otherwise it's HBO on the old 30" Tuba! Ha! LOL

Love & Peace T'

20 things wrong? name 1 thing right with this movie. naming 20 wrong things with this is like saying 20 reasons why poop stinks.

reply

The worse thing about this whole movie was the filming. And not just the fact that it was al very dark, but, for example, when they see the girl or whatever, and they start seeing weird things. That was SO badly done, it was one big flash in front of your eyes, wich gave me a very bad headache.

And i was wondering, in the last scene of the film, she woman lays on the bed with the cat, the pone rings, she pickes up, but no-one is no the other side. She hangs up and lays back on the bed. End Movie.
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT GOOD FOR?

And also, the site belonged to the doctor, right? Every subscriber could see what he was doing with the blond girl. But in the end, the site suddenly belongs to Jeany, or whatever her name was.

It all sucked.

reply

[deleted]

I think the funniest thing about this entire movie was how whenever the girl detective got that phone call and she screamed leave me alone then proceeded to yell what do u want from me...hmmmmm kind of a double standard? Oh and i have a question....so if they see visions of what they are afraid of then wat was the guy detective afraid of? Sideway walls?

reply

1. They claim the daughter's a hemophilliac. Boy, is she a slight rarity in genetics. XD;;;
2. Everything else I can't think of at the moment and/or what everybody else has said.
3. Never should have been made. Period. v_v;;;
