The Greta story

I just saw this short film in one of my film classes and i have to admit, it might be one of the worst films i have ever seen. first of all, the production value of it is absolute zero. was there any effort put into this film?

First, they shot on 3CCD video, which could be fine, if they bothered to white balance and check their exposure. there was no balance in colors throughout this film. some scenes had the right color temperature and exposure, but others where very blue and some of the backgrounds were way overexposed.

second, what the hell was with the sound? could they not afford another microphone other than the one attached to the camera? several scenes had one character speaking that sounded fine, but there were many scenes that had dialogue that sounded like it was recorded from across the room.

third, what the hell was with the use of stills taken from digital cameras. this might have worked had they bothered to take the *beep* flash off the camera, which made every still image look like something i would see on a facebook profile.

and last but not least, what the HELL was with the voice over. first of all, if you have to use a voice over in a film, you already know you are lacking any narrative structure. second of all, the voice over used in this part of the film sounded like i rented a recording of someone reading the short story from the library to me...

in my honest opinion, i have seen short films from film students completely annihilate this excuse of a film.

if you want to see a short film that is better than this, search up something on youtube, you will be more pleased.

someone from ENGL 318I back me up...

tyhart1120: I'm sorry to say it, but yes, what you say it's true, also the three stories are really poor and they make the three central women as crazy bitches... at least that's what the three of them apparently have in common.

That just criticizes technique and not substance, and very superficially at that.
