is this movie based on a book? in the user comments someone said something about a romance novel. i really enjoyed the movie, if there's a book i'd like to read it. does anyone know?

...it's because I missed the first half of this movie. I started watching it when she goes into the river to save her daugther. What happened before that?

I can't remember exactly. I know her boyfriend dies in a fire at the factory he works at. She was pregnant and then had the baby. And her friend (Julian McMahon) was always there for her and they almost get together like they're supposed to be, but Megan falls in the river. If you want more details, there's a page for it at USA Network's website. I hope this helped. It's a really interesting movie. I liked it a lot.

This was actually an original script. I am the niece of the writers, Don and Helen, and it was just an original idea they came up with. They have subsequently had another movie made called A Near Death Experience or Voices, the title varies depending on which country you live in.

Oh, interesting. Thanks for telling me. I really did enjoy this movie. I wish they'd play it on TV again. Haven't seen it in years. Would you know where I could see A Near Death Experience? It also sounds like a good film.
