The Doctor Who connection

Just watched Bob and Rose for the first time (I'm a big fan of Jonathan Creek but had never seen Alan Davies in this show) and noticed: it was written (at least the first episode anyway) by Russell T Davies - aka 'the guy behind all the new Doctor Who episodes'.

Kind of a weird connection...

Before 'Doctor Who', he was probably best known as the creator of 'Queer as Folk'. Also, the series 'Torchwood' combines Russel T Davies' interests in sci-fi and gender issues.

And don't forget of course that Jessica Hynes/Stevenson and Penelope Wilton were in Dr Who and apparently Lesley Sharp will be in this series.

You may also notice that in one episode Holly says: "He had to fall in love with a woman, and it wasn't me." and in the family of blood episode of Doctor Who Martha says: "He had to fall in love with a human, and it wasn't me."

an episode in which the doctor fell in love with Jessica Hynes I might add!

- due to policing cut backs, officers will now be saying hello just the once -
