Giovanni Ribisi

This is one of Ribisi's finest roles. I'm glad to see that people are starting to take notice of his incredible talent. I first saw him in The Gift with Cate Blanchett, and more recently I rented the DVD Heaven where he again is cast with Blanchett. They were fantastic in that beautiful little film, which didn't get much notice at all, unfortunately. In Flight of the Phoenix Ribisi really gets a chance to stretch his acting muscles. He is the whole film, IMO.

Getting back to Shot in the Heart. . . his scenes with Elias Koteas are totally believable. Both of them gave amazing performances, especially the scene where they meet behind the glass window in the prison, and have to talk on phones. Be ready for some unforgetable moments.

Here Here. I almost started crying when he was talking about when he first saw Gary and what his mother said. Then I found myself actually crying at the end, when he's reading from the book and he looks up and Gary is standing there, looking at him.

It's much different on the otherside of the looking-glass, y'know?

I discovered this by accident, a brilliant piece of work. Just bought it on Amazon.

This is really Giovanni Ribisi's film more than anyone else's, and he completely delivers. He's an actor who is always strong, but he doesn't always get roles the roles in he deserves in the films he deserves.

The scenes with Elias Koteas are mesmerizing, with provocative writing and direction and knockout performances by both.
