After so much time waiting the directors cut has finally been released, and i'm curious what everyone else thought?

Aside from one minor complaint about the Kenji music (Why change it? Why?) I really liked the improvements. The Saito scene really added a lot of closure to Saito and Kenshin's battle, and the small scenes of added dialogue really helped the entire OVA to flow much better.

I still think it was a disapointment (Watsuki's ending to the manga was much much better) but it's still better than the previous two part OVA.

i wanna know too. what's the difference between the director's cut and the uh, not-director's cut?

The directors cut has maybe ten minutes of extra footage, and the two episodes are combined into one, similar to the Tsuioken directors cut (only with more footage) there are no brand new stories here, just a few scenes sprinkled throughout.

If you're die hard kenshin, you'll have to see this one to, but if you've already seen the other, and you don't really care about kenshin, then this will just be a waste of your time.

You see the wedding of Kenshin and Kaoru and also you see a scene with Saitou talking to Kaoru about Kenshin. This is about it.

I actually liked the change for Kenji's music. I think the Director's Cut is better than the original, however it will take a little getting used to.

And for the record: I totally love Seisouhen and I don't think it is a bad movie. It is one of my favorite movies of all time.

its 30 mins longer and if you watch it with comentary you can never take the movie seriously ever again its just to damn funny the english voice actors are so absent minded I say watch the movie then next watch it with commentary

i havent watched seisouhen's directors cut but i think the original was fantastic enough.

personally i didnt like tsuiokuhen's cut. i think it was horrible and it ruined my whole mood throughout. some songs were removed, especially at the fight between kenshin and kiyosato. just sounds of swords and blood didnt bring out the scene enough and the part kenshin yelled TOMOE! at the end was also removed. that really messed the whole thing up for me, i was supposed to cry then! waah. but yeah, it just didnt bring out everything well enough. and the subtitles were really annoying, what's with "half witted pup"? i mean, baka desu simply means "stupid student" why make it so fancy. pup. but yeah, i was disappointed. i love the original much more.
