The Usual Suspects

This movie wasn't too bad. Sure, it borrows a lot (and I mean, a LOT) from "Heat", "Reservoir Dogs", "The Usual Suspects", etc. But hey, at least they decided to use the best source material around. The only thing that would have put it over the top would have been Amitabh doing something like Pacino's "cause she's got a GREAT ASS!!!" routine in Hindi.

Did anyone else notice the little character homage to "Usual Suspects"? The detective's name is McQuarrie. The screenplay for "The Usual Suspects" was written by Christopher McQuarrie. I thought this was a nice little nod to the guy who wrote one of my favourite films.

I have only recently seen Reservoir Dogs, and I liked it a lot.
Also recently saw most of Heat...

Unfortunately, when I saw Kaante, I thought that the ending was clever (not exactly filmed in the best way possible, but a clever end-story)... Now I realized that it was taken (stolen, copied, borrowed, "bollywoodized") directly from Tarantinos work... Really disappointing actually.

Can't wait to see what the next young generation of film-makers bring in... With digital revolutionizing and flooding Hollywood with fresh talent, it will probably do the same with Bollywood, but on a smaller scale. Who knows.

... and the same ending of Resevoir Dogs was copied by Tarantino from a Chinese movie that was made in the 1980s!
