This Movie doesn't do JROTC's justice..

When this movie came out there were girls running for my schools JROTC. Once they were in, they quickly got put in their place! This movie doesn't show teenagers that are entering high school what the class acually is about. In my opinion, it degrades the military and dicipline part of the class. I would not mind a movie made like this, however, they should of taken a different approch and took more time researching. The drill in the movie was like it was taught from someone who knew very little about it. The basic movements were executed wrong as well as the commands given. The Unarmed Duel scene was just ridiculous. You don't do those things in Compitition. With that said, I don't recommend this movie if your interested in JROTC-any branch. It will NOT show you whats its like!!!

uhm, this is a disney movie. It's not meant to be taken seriously. It's just supposed to be entertaining. And it's aimed at little kids. like, 8-13 year olds...

well, when I watched it a couple days ago (just to compare it to real JROTC) I was also dissapointed. But the reason it doesn't show what JROTC's really like is because the JROTC "Kelly" is learning from is an academy's, even though they have the U.S. Army JROTC patch on their uniforms...But I do agree that the competitions were stretched...real exhibition is what the Marine JROTC did.
