horrid movie

This movie is everything an Asian American film should try not to be. What a disgrace. If you are an Asian American with any sense of dignity, do not rent or buy this movie!

reply

This movie was weird...it gives us Filipinos and "adobo" a bad name....

reply

I know . The first and only time I saw this was in a college Asian Studies class. It definitely gives Filipinos and "adobo" a bad name indeed.

reply

Yeah. It was corny.

reply

Holy *beep* it was so bad I couldn't even get past like an hour.
The characters were irritating and the whole thing was just awful!
But Paolo was hot

Who is more foolish - the child afraid of the dark or the man afraid of the light?

reply

Yup, it was very boring and those American women that they hired looked like cheap hookers that they paid just to show their t*ts.

I agree, Paolo was hot;)

reply

they showed how american women are so liberating in a sense of being too daring... you get me? i mean, yeah it is true that asians are different from western when it comes to discipline of showing the bodies but the way the american women are shown here is very degrading. showing the t--s and all

reply

I like how posters said it gave Filipinos and Adobo a "bad name" but do not elaborate why. How does it give them a bad name?

Also i think it is wrong to ever lump together Filipinos with other Asians. the culture is different, Christian and westernized in many ways.

I thought the film was fine, a cross section of Filipino life in NY.
