Samurai in the beginning

Does anyone know who the Samurai was in the beginnin of the movie who got stung by the bee?

Yeah he was the samurai in Samurai Fiction, the movie that the director made before Akakage.

I don't think he was named. It was just a way to break in the movie and introduce us to the character of Akakage.

Damn it, though, I love that "fight" scene :) Very anime-esque, loved the camera work and colour changes, and effects. Was fantastic to see from a technical point of view, as well as action oriented point of view :)

His name is Tomoyasu Hotei, he is a very famous guitarist in Japan who was in the band Boowy (spelling?), they were around in the '80s or something. He's solo now & does the music for Samurai Fiction (in the end song to SF he actually sings, I don't care for his singing though) & Red Shadow. He also does the Kill Bill theme, Battle with out Honor or Humanity--which is featured in countless commericals (that is in the US, I don't know about anywhere else), and is also on one of his albums. I'd like to see him do more movie soundtracks.
