Just watching her performance with that purple ball took my breath away. Not just because of her beauty, but because her movements were so fluid and smooth. I just watched this movie and enjoyed it very much, but sadly, I couldn't read any of the credits and her character never spoke a word and wasn't named at any time during the film.
Does anyone know who she is?
Alina Kabayeva, a 22-yr-old Russian gymnast who competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
shareThank you soooooo much! I've always loved those kinds of gymnastic performances, especially the ones where it involves tricks with a ball or a hula hoop. In Akakage/Red Shadow, Alina's movements were so awesome, I had to rewind her scenes a couple of times to finally figure out whether or not it was a CGI special effect or if it really was her performing.
It doesn't surprise me that she's a world-class Olympic athlete, considering she was so smooth in her movements.

A bit more about Kabaeva (but if you already know that, sorry for repeating the information): actually, she won the gold medal during the Olympics-2004 in Athens.
