North Korea

What about north Korea? I think it was undermentioned alot in this film and I also think being in a Japanese annexed Korea with anti-Korean undertones would be BETTER than what they have actually suffered since the split of the Korea's.

The wise guy (head of the rebel) told Sakamoto that Korea had been united in 2008 in uncorrupted timeline. In 2009 (uncorrupted timeline) the United Korea and Japan did a join research on the moon stone.

When the scientists found that the stone can open a portal through time, the Japanese Government think that this would be a perfect opportunity to re-write history and erase all humiliation from the lost from WW2. So they sent this guy, Inoue to change history by preventing the assasination of Ito, the Chosun Governor in 1909.

The Koreans would prefer fight in a civil war rather than be annexed by Japan. Afterall they knew that Korea would be united in 2008.

I think this movie is great. However, some weak points are clearly can be seen.

For example, the Koreans who made this movie surely has overconfidence in the importance of Korea in Japanese colonization movement. I mean, I don't think that Korea annexation will be a key success for Japanese in anything at all! Maybe Japan can get more territory, and then what? If I were the Japanese government in the movie, I would sent my men to help destroy Pearl Harbor instead LOL.

I was stunned when I learned (in real life) that the first ROK leader after our man Syng man Rhee, the general-president, Park, had been a Japanese army officer during World War II. Our history in this country leaves out of interesting details.

When I was in Korea I took a local high school teacher onto our base at Yongsan (within Seoul city limits) and he looked at the buildings there and said, "Hmm, Japanese architecture," indicating it was their army base before it was ours.

I believe if Korea had been successfully pacified as per this movie it would have played a large part in the Greater Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. And I was happy Nihon was on our side in World War II as they had been in World War I.

Great think piece of film.

I also appreciated the picture of ROK soccer great #11 at the World Cup in 2002 wearing a Japanese flag on his jersey.

I have to edit my previous comment here.

After studying further about Korean history, I realized that Korea do have a significant strategic value to Japan. It opens a land path to China.
