Was 'the manor' like holy ground in Highlander?

The Soldats had two main factions; Altena's faction, which supported "Le Grande Retour," or the use of Noir, and the opposing faction, which evidently was led by Remy Breffort. Altena, an army of nuns, Chloe, and previously Kirika, lived at the manor, and evidently were never molested there by the opposing faction. Was that because the manor was supposed to be somehow sacrosanct?
